May the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus be everywhere praised and glorified. And may the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary obtain for us an increase of love for the Blessed Sacrament. Thus begins each time of communal prayer for the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This aspiration reminds each Sister of the importance of the Eucharist in her daily life as well as their dependence upon our Lady who constantly points to her Son. Each Sister spends at least one hour of adoration daily in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. She also makes an additional hour of adoration on Friday evenings when the Sisters offer their nocturnal adoration for the conversion of sinners and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In addition to the Liturgy of the Hours and the daily communal participation in the Mass, frequent visits are also made to the chapel for acts of adoration to our Lord: "Knowing the Eucharist to be the center and source of individual and communal fidelity to the Lord, the sisters frequently visit the Blessed Sacrament" (IHM Constitutions, #48). |
